[Arc 1] The cannon fodder who had an affair with the tyrant (3)

Quick Transmigration: Help, The Male Leads Are All Broken!

Another chilly wind blew through. Su Tang sniffled from the cold.

She could see it. The boss was angry, and no matter what she said at the moment, it would be wrong. What’s more, the grievances between them were too deep. The fact that he could bear the anger in his heart, and not toss her out the Meridian Gates, was already not an easy feat.

However, this weak and pitiful appearance of hers, instead of making Qin Li happy, it actually made his anger boil.

This person first arranged that kind of novella, but now actually felt aggrieved enough to cry?!

“What are the tears for?”

Such a cold voice. Su Tang twitched the corners of her mouth and continued to endure. Tears? Fine, these were tears. Either way, it was better than death. If the boss said she was crying, then she must have been crying.

After Qin Li asked her to raise her head, that was exactly the image he saw.

Inexplicably, he once again thought of the contents of that novella.

The story was extremely fragrant. In one of the scenes, the character who was clearly meant to be her replica was bullied to tears. Witnessing the young boy cry silently, seeing that little stubborn yet pretty face, it made one’s heart incredibly distressed. Facing that kind of scene, Qin Li’s own counterpart in the book didn’t give a damn about what was right or wrong. He embraced the young boy in a fierce kiss, only letting go when it became too much for the boy.

At the time when Qin Li read the book, his teeth had clenched so hard they nearly cracked, and he had itched to seize that character who resembled her to be slaughtered. If it were not for a few parts of the story that ended up rousing his suspicions, he would not have made the trip here to An wángfǔ

But what was strange was that, when he saw the real person in front of him, all the anger he felt at the time actually disappeared. Rather, there was a ripple in his heart. Although it was not enough to gather the person into his arms, it spawned something that was somewhat difficult to bear.

No, no, no. He must have been possessed by that novella.

Qin Lu felt a splitting headache forming. He wanted to ask her about the suspicious points in the book, but when the words reached his lips, he caught sight of the tears that trailed down her face, and he spat out, “Put away your tears this instant!”

Su Tang blinked, then belatedly realized that this bozo didn’t want to see her cry. She bit the bullet and backtracked, “This subject didn’t cry. It was just that the wind was too strong, and it blew sand into my eyes.”

Once the words fell, it went completely silent.

Qin Li rubbed his temples. If this appearance of hers were to be spread outside, who knows what other sorts of fragrant novellas would crawl out of the woodworks.

“Over these years, the previous emperor had really indulged you, raising you to have this sort of conduct!”

Su Tang was expressionless, and even wanted to squeeze out two more tears.

Then, she heard Qin Li add, “The previous emperor taught you ethics and etiquette before, but I can’t allow you to keep making mistakes. Starting today…” He originally wanted to leave her to a subordinate, but seeing her like this, he could already spot the schemes cooking in her head. As a result, the words directly changed into, “Your lessons will be supervised by me personally.”

Su Tang originally thought that she merely had to get through this brief interlude, but in the end, he actually became her personal supervisor. She stared at him blankly. Because of the shock, the whole person seemed a bit stupid.

Qin Lu felt that this appearance of hers was pleasing to the eye, “Let’s go.”

Su Tang was muddle-headed and gazed at him foolishly, “Huh? Where are we going?”

Qin Lu seemed to be in a good mood now, and he slanted his eyes to look at her, “Naturally, we are going to the palace to teach you etiquette. What, did you expect me to come to An wángfǔ everyday to teach you?”

Su Tang hurriedly bent at her waist and said she wouldn’t dare, but she couldn’t help slandering him in her heart. Based on her understanding of him, this dog emperor must want to see her humiliated!

After thinking it over, she asked the system once again, “Is it correct that I just need to make the blackened values drop, and it doesn’t matter what method I use?”

Having learned its lesson from the previous worlds, the systems knew that this was clearly a scam, and said quietly: “It is true that you can use any method, but if you toy around too much, we might die in this world and won’t be able to leave.” When it spoke of ‘we’, it seemed to be gnashing its teeth.

Su Tang was relieved. The dog emperor won’t kill her, although it was mainly because he hasn’t avenged the grudges accumulated from back then. Dragging her to be beheaded at the Meridian Gates would indeed be delightful, but after thinking about it carefully, she felt that it would not be satisfying, ah. It would be much more interesting to keep her close everyday, watching her panic and be on edge, and prolong her fear and suffering.

The palace was as magnificent as ever, but when everyone from afar caught sight of young Prince An following behind His Majesty, quite a few people’s expressions became complex.

Speaking of this, Prince An back then had also been incredibly pleasing to the eye. When the previous emperor was alive, she had been even more favored than normal princes. But that wasn’t the crucial point, the point was that she had bullied Qin Li when he was still a prince. The most desolate prince at the time ended up turning over and becoming the emperor. None of the princes who had insulted him ended up having a good ending. So then, this was…finally pointing the knife at young Prince An?

If one really thought about it, although Prince An could be a bit of a prick, compared to those powerful officials who liked to threaten people’s lives, she was much more adorable. After all, the most tasteless thing she did was exchange money for favors. What’s more, Prince An was extremely generous when spending money, and because of this, whenever she was out and about, she always had a group of orioles and swallows[1] flocking around her.

[1] orioles and swallows [莺莺燕燕] = metaphor for wives, concubines, or young women

Su Tang followed behind Qin Li. Not knowing when the had man stopped walking, having not been paying attention, she ran straight into his body. She rubbed her sore nose, not daring to complain, and instead knelt on the ground with a thump.

In her present situation, it would be her fault anyway.

Qin Li didn’t expect her to be so quick to kneel. He felt a bit uncomfortable in his heart, so he sneered and said tauntingly, “Little Prince An already dared to throw himself into my arms, so why would he kneel?”

Su Tang heard the strange tone in his voice and vigorously admitted her mistake, “It was this subject who was careless and bumped into Your Majesty, and pleads for Your Majesty to calm your anger.”

For some reason, Qin Lu really didn’t like seeing her lowly servile image. When he heard her words, he abruptly let out a burst of laughter, “If I can’t calm my anger, what shall you do?” After speaking, he stared at her with a smile that was not quite a smile.

Su Tang continued to lower her head, and consulted in a small voice, “Then…this subject will kneel until you have calmed down?”

“You like to kneel, then continue to kneel!” Seeing her looking like this, Qin Li suddenly found it somewhat dull, so after throwing out those words, he really up and left.

Su Tang had finally remembered to active her pain shield, so she actually didn’t feel anything while kneeling on the hard bluestone slab. But although her knees were painless, her stomach growled with hunger. She raised her head and took in the gray overcast sky, and looked forward to the impending heavy rain. Once that happened, maybe the dog emperor would eventually think of her and save her from kneeling.

After all, if she died like this, he wouldn’t be able to continue playing.

But Su Tang hadn’t even waited until the rain fell, when suddenly her vision blurred and her head spun. Her face dropped in full disbelief. No way, she clearly remembered that this body was very sturdy. How, after not controlling it for a few days, did it become this fragile?

In another part of the palace, Qin Li was going over the memorials. The previous emperor had not been diligent and most matters had been handled by court officials. Qin Li didn’t like to not hold the power in his hands, so there were always a lot of memorials on his desk. But today, none of the words entered his brain.

Just then, the gates were quietly pushed open.

A young man dressed in eunuch garb walked over, glanced at the emperor seated above him, and hesitated.

Qin Li didn’t even lift his head, “What is it?”

The little eunuch immediately stepped forward, “Reporting to Your Majesty, Prince An has fainted.”

Hearing this, Qin Li’s handsome face didn’t reveal any emotions, “Why would he faint?” He asked like this, but in the next moment, the whole person stood up, “Forget it, I’ll go take a look.”
